As Assistant Controller, you'll support the Group Controller in maintaining and further improving the financial administration and reporting for the group. It’s a genuinely broad role, combining day-to-day accounting activities with exposure to month-end closing and audit cycles. You’ll be part of the close-knit finance team in Vlaardingen, working closely with senior stakeholders including the CFO and management, with a lot of room for guidance and knowledge sharing. You'll report directly to the experienced Group Controller, also offering you the opportunity to learn and develop. Key responsibilities include:

Supporting and preparing financial reporting
Posting and processing journal entries
Assisting with month-end closing activities
Supporting audit preparation and documentation
Analysing and checking financial data
Identifying improvements in processes and reporting
Working closely with finance colleagues and other departments

About you

You have as a minimum a Bachelor in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics or Economics or similar (HBO-level)
You are either at the beginning of your Finance career or have up to circa. 3-4 years of finance experience. The client is open to different experience levels and is focused on finding the right fit, combined with the right motivation and inherent potential. Your salary will be commensurate with your profile and the experience you bring to the position
Structure and accuracy are important to you
You have a strong affinity with figures and financial processes
You are eager to learn and develop yourself within Finance and Control
You speak English fluently and potentially Dutch as well (however this is not essential)
You have the right to work in The Netherlands
You are happy to work mostly in the office (4 days per week in the office, 1 day at home)
