Chief Compliance Manager

Job description

For a start-up joint venture of two industrial leading companies, we are looking for a Chief Compliance Manager who wants to build a team and with that team be responsible for developing and embedding the the Global Compliance Program. This is a senior level role with interesting challenges and the opportunity to really make this your own.

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Develop and implement a global compliance plan, determining which policies should be put into place and rolling these out, as well as monitoring progress.

  • Be ambassador to making compliance an integral part of the company, including but not limited to legislation, client agreements and ensure business is conducted in line with company guidelines and ethical business practices

  • Be of support to the remote local compliance officers and the legal department in interpreting policies and guidelines and in developing their legal compliance strategy and procedures

  • Proactively identify relevant compliance risks

  • Ensure regular compliance reports for the Board of Directors and the Shareholders

  • Provide training on compliance risk assessment;

  • Embedding a strong compliance culture within the organisation

  • Travel 25%

Requirements

  • 8 - 15 years of relevant compliance experience, ideally with a legal background

  • Qualified at Master degree level, certified compliance professional is a strong plus

  • Recent working knowledge of Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, Data Privacy, Competition/Antitrust laws and regulations and Third Party Due Diligence

  • Proven experience with the development and rollout of a compliance program

  • Experience gained within a multinational environment

  • Solid change management skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills (internal & external)

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and manage competing priorities

  • Proactive, results-oriented and driven

  • Strong ethics

  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ideally with an additional language (Dutch, French and/or German)
