Take this exciting opportunity to join an international team of finance professionals and contribute to a growing organization. The role of International Controller has a highly ad-hoc and advisory character, with a focus on technical financial & accounting topics on which you will provide guidance toward the internal finance & accounting business. In a nutshell, you would be responsible for overseeing quarterly reporting, cash flow reporting, lease accounting, technical-accounting, SOX controls, tax compliancy & transfer pricing and a range of projects. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and an analytical team player, and the candidate must be flexible to function in an ever-changing organization. Based in central Amsterdam, the candidate will be required to communicate effectively across all departments, and will have daily exposure to teams based in various international entities.

Main responsibilities:

  • Act as advisor on setting policies and provide best practices to ensure effective, efficient and SOX compliant execution of finance & accounting activities
  • Provide support toward the reporting to our New York-based shareholders
  • Lead and manage overall audit process including relationship with External Auditors (local GAAP, local tax audits, SOX audits)
  • Take responsibility for multi-GAAP statutory financial statements in collaboration with local accounting and tax advisors
  • Lead overall tax strategy and annual tax compliance and manage local tax advisors on corporate income tax, deferred Taxes, DST, VAT, etc.
  • Be the point-of-contact for GL-accountants for complex and technical accounting and tax topics
  • Partake actively in ad hoc finance and accounting projects
  • Manage and mentor junior team member(s)

Requirements

  • Master’s Finance Degree or equivalent with CPA, RA, or equivalent a plus
  • At least 5 years audit/controlling experience preferably at an international accounting firm
  • Strong US-GAAP knowledge
  • Affinity with Tax including topics such as Transfer Pricing
  • Advanced analytical and logical mind-set
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
  • Full professional proficiency in English
